Alternative & SEND Provisions
Careers that meet students where they are
Different learners need different ways in.
For some young people, the traditional route through education and into work doesn't quite fit.
That doesn't mean their potential is any smaller.
SharpFutures works with Alternative Provision, special schools and education providers supporting young people with SEND to create meaningful experiences of the creative and digital industries.
We take the time to understand your learners, then shape experiences around how they communicate, learn, engage and build confidence.
Tailored around your learners
Every group is different. That's why our sessions can be adapted around the needs of your students and the environment you're working in.
Depending on the group, this could include:
1. Smaller, accessible groups.
2. Clear, simple and accessible instructions.
3. Flexible pacing and additional time.
4. Practical, hands-on activities.
5. Familiar structures and clear expectations.
6. Opportunities to take breaks or reset.
8. Activities adapted to different confidence and ability levels.
7. Different ways for students to participate and communicate.
Come and see where careers happen
Based in Manchester? You can get a tour of The Sharp Project for FREE
Bring students to The Sharp Project and introduce them to a working creative environment.
Visits can be adapted to suit your group, from shorter introductions and guided tours to more interactive sessions.
Students can explore the spaces where people work, discover different businesses and roles, and begin to understand what a creative workplace actually feels like.
Sometimes seeing it is the first step to believing it's possible.
The Gatsby Benchmarks recognise that careers provision should address the needs of each learner. We take that principle into the way we plan and deliver our experiences.
Before we deliver anything, we'll work with your team to understand:
Who are your learners?
What will help them feel comfortable?
What are they interested in?
What support or adjustments might they need?
What do you want them to take away?

Our link to the creative & digital industries
For learners ready to build their experience, SharpFutures can provide a pathway into POD (People On Demand) connecting emerging talent with paid creative and digital work.
We’ve successfully supported learners into opportunities with JD Sports, the BBC and local businesses, helping them turn new skills into real industry experience.
